Bio-Rad Aminex HPX-87C is a calcium-form HPLC column for carbohydrate and sugar alcohol separations. The 250 × 4.0 mm format contains sulfonated styrene-divinylbenzene resin with 9 µm particles and 8% crosslinkage. The stationary phase separates carbohydrates through ion-moderated partition, ligand exchange, and size-exclusion effects. Its narrower internal diameter distinguishes this configuration from the 300 × 7.8 mm format in the same HPX-87C family. The column supports method development and analytical testing of carbohydrate mixtures where an appropriate calcium-form stationary phase is required. The recommended operating pH range is 5–9. This is a prepacked chromatographic separation column, not loose resin or a general-purpose reversed-phase C18 column.
