Answer:300 mm length × 7.8 mm internal diameter.
Answer:Hydrogen-form ion-exclusion resin with 8% crosslinking and 9 µm particles.
Answer:Organic acids, carbohydrates, alcohols and related metabolites in fermentation and biological samples.
Bio-Rad Aminex HPX-87H is an ion-exclusion HPLC column used for analyzing organic acids, carbohydrates, alcohols and related compounds in fermentation and biological samples. The column contains a hydrogen-form sulfonated polymer resin with 8% crosslinking and a nominal particle size of 9 µm. Its 300 × 7.8 mm geometry supports separation of low-molecular-weight metabolites in aqueous samples using dilute sulfuric acid as the eluent. The column is used in organic acid profiling, fermentation monitoring, biofuel process analysis and studies of sugars in the presence of carboxylic acids. It operates in the acidic pH range of 1–3 and supports methods using refractive index or appropriate ultraviolet detection. This is a prepacked analytical HPLC column rather than a bulk resin material.
