Description
The AutoDG Instrument partitions each sample in a 96-well PCR plate into ~20,000 uniform nanoliter-sized droplets in which nucleic acid molecules are randomly distributed. Every droplet serves as an individual PCR reaction in Bio-Rad’s Droplet Digital (ddPCR) PCR System. After partitioning, the plate is sealed with the PX1 Plate Sealer, and PCR is run to end point in a thermal cycler. The droplets in each sample can then be analyzed using a QX600 or QX200 Droplet Reader.
• Eliminates user-to-user variability — creates more consistent droplet counts across users and plates, enabling you to fully exploit the precision of your ddPCR System
• Minimizes hands-on time — takes less than 5 minutes to load the instrument, and droplet generation requires no supervision
Features and Benefits of the Automated Droplet Generator
Bio-Rad’s Automated Droplet Generator simplifies ddPCR workflow and makes digital PCR scalable and flexible:
• Guides setup and loading with large, color touch-screen interface and LED lighting
• Generates droplets for 96 ddPCR reactions in under 45 minutes
• One AutoDG Instrument can generate sufficient droplets to keep 4–5 droplet readers running continuously
• Provides operational flexibility: User-definable plate layout with increments of 8 wells HEPA-filtered enclosure reduces the possibility of contamination and allows the system to be placed in any lab environment Compatible with both QX600 and QX200 ddPCR workflows
