Description
Use AL (Agar Listeria according to Ottaviani and Agosti) Agar Plates for the detection and enumeration of Listeria spp., including L. monocytogenes and L. ivanovii, in food products and environmental samples. The chromogenic identification and differentiation of Listeria spp. is based on both PI-PLC (phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C) and of β-D-glucosidase (β-gal) activities.
Features and Benefits
• Listeria spp. form blue to blue-green colonies
• PI-PLC is only present in pathogenic Listeria species ( L. monocytogenes , L. ivanovii , and derivatives) and produces an opaque halo around colonies
• Results 24 hr after enrichment
• Results can be confirmed on RAPID' Listeria spp., RAPID' L.mono , or Palcam Agar Plates
• Use to confirm positive results from tests such as iQ-Check ® Listeria spp. and iQ-Check Listeria monocytogenes II Real-Time PCR Tests
