Answer:Weak anion exchange using diethylaminoethyl groups attached to a cross-linked dextran matrix.
Answer:500 g of bulk resin.
Answer:Protein and plasma fractionation, including batch and column chromatography under defined pH and salt conditions.
Cytiva DEAE Sephadex A-50 is a weak anion exchange chromatography resin based on a cross-linked dextran Sephadex matrix functionalized with diethylaminoethyl groups. The 500 g bulk package is designed for users developing or operating protein and plasma fractionation workflows where negatively charged components are captured under controlled buffer conditions. The A-50 matrix provides a different porosity from A-25 while retaining the weak anion-exchange chemistry. DEAE Sephadex can be employed in column chromatography or batch binding procedures, especially for large feed volumes where adsorption and stepwise elution are useful. The material is not a strong cation exchanger: its binding behavior is governed by the anion exchange group, sample pH and ionic strength. Before processing, the resin is prepared and equilibrated with a suitable buffer, and binding and elution conditions are established for the specific target. This supply contains unpacked resin rather than a prefilled cartridge or complete chromatography system.
