The Cytiva HiTrap SP HP chromatography columns contain SP Sepharose High Performance strong cation-exchange resin for high-resolution purification of proteins and other positively charged biomolecules. Sulfopropyl functional groups provide the negative charges needed for cation-exchange binding under appropriate buffer conditions. The cross-linked agarose beads have an average particle size of approximately 34 µm and are supplied prepacked in 5 mL HiTrap columns. The compact format supports method development, sample cleanup and purification using a syringe, compatible pump or liquid chromatography system. Each pack contains five 5 mL columns and differs in ion-exchange selectivity from positively charged HiTrap Q HP anion-exchange media.
