The Cytiva dust-protection nipple protects compatible 4.8 mm Snap connection interfaces when sections of an ÄKTA pilot 600 fluid path are disconnected or stored. Exposed connection ports can collect particles during installation, maintenance, and periods when tubing is removed. A fitted dust protector reduces direct exposure of the connector interface to the surrounding environment and makes it easier to keep unused connection points organized. The 4.8 mm size is distinct from the smaller 3.2 mm Snap system, so connectors and protective accessories must be matched by size. Fit the protection component only to a clean, compatible connection and inspect it for deformation or visible contamination before reuse. Remove the protector before re-establishing the active fluid path and inspect the mating connector. Dust protection does not constitute a validated sterile seal, pressure cap, or microbiological barrier. The package contains six protective nipples.
