Answer:The 0.45 µm DBL membrane is used for bioburden reduction and prefiltration, not as a substitute for a validated 0.2 µm final filter.
Answer:A 5-inch cartridge with double silicone O-rings, bayonet lock and fin end.
Answer:It combines nominal 0.65 and 0.45 µm membrane layers to support high-throughput process prefiltration.
The Pall Fluorodyne II DBL liquid filter cartridge is a 0.45 µm-rated bioburden-reduction membrane assembly intended for prefiltration and particulate-loaded or viscous process solutions. The filter uses a serial 0.65/0.45 µm membrane construction intended to support fluid throughput while reducing bioburden. The nominal cartridge length is 5 inches, with double silicone O-rings, a bayonet lock and a fin end. This filter is not equivalent to a 0.2 µm sterilizing-grade final filter; its microbial-reduction performance and suitability must be assessed within the specific filtration train. Applications include upstream clarification before finer final membranes and bioburden control where a validated 0.45 µm stage is specified. Install the filter in a correctly matched housing, maintain the proper flow direction and use process-specific integrity test and differential-pressure limits. Confirm compatibility with the liquid, especially solvents with restricted compatibility.
