Biacore 7 mm plastic vials are compact polypropylene containers for automated sample handling in compatible surface plasmon resonance instruments. Each vial has a nominal 0.8 mL capacity and a 7 mm outside diameter, allowing individual samples, dilution standards, wash solutions or reference controls to be organized in the appropriate autosampler rack. Polypropylene provides a practical laboratory-contact surface for many aqueous solutions, although sample adsorption and solvent compatibility must be evaluated for sensitive analytes. Use a suitable Type 3 rubber cap when the instrument workflow calls for penetrable, ventilated vial closures. The small format is particularly useful where sample volume is limited, but sufficient liquid must remain above the needle's minimum aspiration level throughout the run. Do not substitute the larger 15 mm vials without also changing the rack and cap configuration. This product is supplied as 1,000 vials; rubber caps and SPR sensor chips are separate consumables.
