Biacore Rubber Caps Type 3 are penetrable and ventilated closures designed for compatible 7 mm plastic sample vials and 9 mm glass vials. Their Kraton G elastomer construction creates a practical protective closure while allowing the autosampler needle to reach the liquid without removing the cap. The caps help preserve sample organization during sequential SPR analyses such as concentration series, antibody binding measurements and solution blanks. Ventilation is important for controlled liquid withdrawal from the vial; the seal is not an airtight storage closure. Confirm the specific vial type and geometry before loading a plate or sample rack because Type 3 does not fit the 15 mm plastic vials intended for Type 5. Use clean caps and appropriate sample handling to reduce cross-contamination and keep the sampling path unobstructed. Each pack contains 600 rubber caps. Sterility or solvent resistance beyond the supported Biacore workflow should not be inferred from the elastomer material alone.
