Answer:The solution contains 10 mM MgCl2 and is supplied as 30 mL per vial.
Answer:It can help assess LAL inhibition associated with chelation by sample constituents such as EDTA or heparin.
Answer:No. It is a dilution reagent used to manage assay interference, not an endotoxin-removal product.
Lonza magnesium chloride 10 mM solution is a defined sample diluent for Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) endotoxin testing when sample components chelate divalent cations. EDTA and heparin are examples of constituents that may disturb an endotoxin test through metal-ion binding. Supplying magnesium in the dilution medium can help investigate this particular interference mechanism while retaining a controlled sample preparation. The solution comes in a 30 mL vial and has an endotoxin specification below 0.005 EU/mL. Its low background is useful when preparing diluted samples for assays that measure small quantities of endotoxin. Assay recovery must still be demonstrated through the applicable positive product control rather than assumed from the reagent composition. Maintain clean, endotoxin-controlled containers and use the concentration and dilution scheme selected for the method. This reagent does not remove endotoxin, neutralize every sample inhibitor or replace the LAL detection reagent itself.
