AOX Cell Test is designed for photometric measurement of adsorbable organically bound halogens in water and environmental samples. The Spectroquant® method covers a measuring range of 0.05–2.50 mg/L expressed as AOX and is supplied for 25 tests. Organic halogen compounds are first adsorbed onto activated charcoal while inorganic halides are removed by washing. The retained material is digested, and the resulting halide is determined photometrically. The method follows an adsorption approach analogous to EN ISO 9562 and is applicable to environmental water, wastewater, drinking water, ground and surface water, industrial cooling water and relevant process-water matrices. The kit contains prefilled 16 mm round cells and the reagents needed for the cell-test determination. Sample enrichment and preparation require the complementary AOX sample-preparation and enrichment sets, which are separate components of the overall workflow. The test is compatible with Spectroquant® photometers, including Prove and Nova platforms. The photometric cell-test format is distinct from visual test strips or a general-purpose halide titration and provides a defined measurement range for monitoring adsorbable organic halogens.
