Application
Methanol can be used as a solvent for the extraction of:

Merck EMSURE Methanol is a high-purity analytical solvent supplied in a 2.5 L container for extraction, reagent preparation and routine analytical laboratory workflows. The solvent meets a minimum assay of 99.9% by gas chromatography and is specified for analytical use under ACS, ISO and European Pharmacopoeia reagent requirements. Methanol is fully miscible with water and many organic solvents, making it useful as a component of solvent mixtures and for cleaning compatible laboratory glassware. Select the solvent grade and impurity profile against the needs of the method, especially when trace-level contaminants or detector background can affect measurement quality. Use clean, tightly closed containers to minimize moisture uptake and cross-contamination. Methanol is flammable and toxic by inhalation, skin contact or ingestion; handle it with ventilation, suitable protective equipment and appropriate waste collection. This product is reagent-grade methanol rather than a formulated mobile phase, calibration standard or denatured alcohol.
