Merck Certipur Vanadium Standard Solution supplies a certified elemental vanadium stock at 1,000 mg/L V in 0.5 M nitric acid. The reference is suitable for preparing defined vanadium calibration concentrations in validated atomic absorption and related elemental-analysis methods. Vanadium testing may be needed for industrial process streams, metal-containing materials and environmental samples after appropriate preparation. Pipette measured aliquots into calibrated volumetric containers and dilute with a method-compatible reagent matrix. Include reagent blanks and check standards to identify sample contamination, analytical carryover or calibration shifts. The stock concentration is expressed as elemental vanadium even though ammonium metavanadate is used in its preparation. Chemical form and acid content can affect method compatibility, particularly when standards are combined with other elements. Handle and dispose of the acidic metal solution in line with chemical laboratory controls. The 500 mL bottle is a single-element calibration material, not a vanadium alloy, catalyst or premixed trace-metal standard.
