Answer:The photometric range is 1.0–60.0 mg/L as SO₃²⁻ or 0.8–48.0 mg/L as SO₂.
Answer:The reagent set is sufficient for 150 tests when used with the specified method.
Answer:Color and turbidity may interfere with absorbance measurements; sample preparation and appropriate blanks should be evaluated first.
The Merck Spectroquant Sulfite Test is a reagent kit for photometric determination of sulfite in liquid samples. The method covers 1.0–60.0 mg/L expressed as sulfite (SO₃²⁻), equivalent to 0.8–48.0 mg/L expressed as sulfur dioxide (SO₂), and the package provides reagents for 150 tests. Sulfite measurement can support checks of beverage production, process water, boiler and cooling-water systems where sulfite is used or monitored. Use the prescribed test preparation, reaction time, cuvette format and instrument program to ensure the reported concentration corresponds to the selected analyte unit. Sulfite can change during sample storage or exposure to air, so minimize delays between collection and analysis and use suitable blanks and quality controls. Dilute samples that exceed the measuring range with a compatible matrix and apply the dilution factor to the result. Assess color, turbidity and potentially reactive sample constituents as sources of photometric interference before reporting quantitative results.
