Answer:It checks UV-Vis spectral resolution using characteristic features of 0.02% toluene in n-hexane.
Answer:No. Dedicated sodium nitrite and holmium oxide standards address those separate checks.
Answer:Use solvent-compatible UV cuvettes, minimize evaporation, prevent ignition sources and record scan settings for repeatable resolution checks.
Supelco Certipur UV-Vis Standard 5 is a 0.02% toluene solution in n-hexane designed for checking the spectral resolution of compatible UV-visible spectrophotometers. In a resolution test, the relationship between neighboring spectral features is assessed using the method-defined scan and slit-width settings. This checks how well the optical system resolves adjacent absorption structure and is separate from wavelength calibration, stray-light measurement and photometric accuracy testing. The reference is supplied as single-use solution containers; use the pack configuration specified by the exact order code rather than relying on generic family illustrations. For the test, use solvent-compatible UV-transparent cells and the defined reference and scan settings, then compare the result with the relevant qualification acceptance criterion. The toluene/hexane mixture is volatile and flammable and must be handled in a properly controlled chemical workspace. Protect the sample from evaporation during measurement, keep the lot certificate and record the test configuration to support reproducible qualification.
