Merck Certipur Arsenic Standard Solution is a certified reference stock containing 1,000 mg/L elemental arsenic in 0.5 M nitric acid. It supports preparation of calibration standards for appropriate atomic absorption and other validated elemental-analysis methods used in environmental and materials testing. Arsenic monitoring can require low detection limits and effective control of blank contamination, carryover and matrix interference. Prepare measured dilutions in a designated area with clean equipment, and include suitable blanks, controls and calibration-verification checks. The reference provides total arsenic concentration; it does not, by itself, determine different chemical species such as arsenite and arsenate. Any speciation experiment requires additional separation or selective detection methodology.
