LiChrospher® Si 100 (5 µm) Hibar® RT 250-4 is used for normal-phase, hydrophilic-interaction and related silica-based HPLC separations. The column contains fully porous 5 µm silica particles with 100 Å pores and an unbonded silica surface corresponding to USP L3. The stainless-steel column measures 250 mm in length by 4 mm internal diameter and provides approximately 350 m²/g of surface area. The stationary phase is not endcapped and operates over a stated pH range of 2–7.5. Its polar silica surface provides strong retention of polar functional groups under normal-phase conditions and can also support HILIC or supercritical-fluid applications where suitable mobile phases are used. The Hibar RT housing is a complete analytical column rather than a LiChroCART insert, making it suitable for established methods that specify traditional LiChrospher Si 100 selectivity.
