LiChrospher® 100 DIOL (5 µm) LiChroCART™ 250-4 is used for HPLC methods that require a polar diol-bonded silica stationary phase. The cartridge contains fully porous 5 µm silica particles with 100 Å pores and diol surface chemistry corresponding to USP L20. It measures 250 mm in length by 4 mm internal diameter and is not endcapped. The phase operates over a stated pH range of 2–7.5 and provides a useful intermediate polarity between unbonded silica and conventional reversed-phase materials. It can serve as a less polar alternative to bare silica in normal-phase separations, a less hydrophobic alternative to RP-8 in suitable reversed-phase methods, and can also be used for size-exclusion applications under compatible conditions. The LiChroCART insert requires the appropriate manuCART holder for HPLC connection.
