Merck LiChrospher 100 RP-8 endcapped LiChroCART contains an octyl-bonded C8 stationary phase on 5 µm spherical silica with 100 Å pores. The 250 × 4 mm cartridge format supports reversed-phase separation of neutral, acidic and weakly basic small molecules in established HPLC analytical methods. C8 bonding provides hydrophobic retention with selectivity distinct from conventional C18 packings, while endcapping suppresses residual silanol interactions. The extended 250 mm bed is useful when analytical methods require additional chromatographic resolving power. This replaceable LiChroCART insert is used with a compatible manuCART holder for connection to an HPLC system. The cartridge is not a self-contained stainless-steel column supplied with permanent end fittings.
