Answer:It uses octyl-bonded silica, a C8 reversed-phase stationary phase.
Answer:The Hibar RT column measures 250 × 4.6 mm and contains 5 µm particles.
Answer:No. It is a packed HPLC analytical column; the manu-CART holder is a different product for compatible LiChroCART cartridges.
Merck LiChrosorb RP-8 Hibar RT is a 250 × 4.6 mm reversed-phase HPLC column packed with 5 µm C8-modified silica particles. The octyl stationary phase provides hydrophobic retention with different selectivity and retention strength from longer-chain C18 phases. Its analytical-bore design is suited to established HPLC workflows for small organic molecules, including selected antibiotics, lipids, vitamins and other suitable analytes. The stainless steel Hibar column is supplied ready for chromatographic use and is not a separate cartridge-holding device. Merck specifies operation up to 400 bar and 60 °C for this configuration, with mobile-phase and sample chemistry selected within the column specifications. When replacing a C18 column, account for possible changes in retention and elution order.
