Description

General description
Calcium is a highlyreactive and non-toxic metal that is widely used as a reducing agent. It isalso used for the improvement of steel, as a desulfurizer, and as an alloying agent. Calciumis prepared by the aluminothermal or electrolysis method.
Application
Calcium can be used as:Process control agent in mechanical alloying of titanium to get maximum powder yield and microstructural stability.
A precursor to synthesize Ca₈Al₃ and Ca₁₃Al₁₄ with metallic Zintl phases and Ca₆.₂Mg₃.₈Sn with an unprecedented type of tin chain composed of square-planar tin units.
A catalyst in the highly selective oxidation of phenols.

Precursor to Ca₈Al₃ and Ca₁₃Al₁₄; intermetallics with new metallic Zintl phases.⁷
Features and Benefits
•Distillation-purification of calcium removes impurities like oxides, nitrides, and residual salts, enabling cleaner and more efficient metallurgical reductions for improved alloy quality.
