The NovaSeptum general-sampling port plug is a medical-grade, platinum-cured silicone component for compatible NovaSeptum sampling ports. It provides the designed puncturable membrane interface for the general-sampling configuration that uses 1.0 mm needles. The plug works as part of a matched sampling-port assembly and must not be confused with the entire sampling holder, a sample bag or the manual crimping tool. Controlled sampling processes depend on correct plug placement and compatibility with the adjacent holder and needle format. Check the surface for damage, use a suitable validated sampling arrangement, and avoid repeated penetrations beyond the process qualification. The port plugs are supplied non-sterile, so sterile applications require a validated preparation and sterilization strategy before use. The pack contains 100 plugs, allowing individual components to be handled and replaced as required. The general-sampling plug differs from the version intended for cell-culture sampling, and those variants should not be substituted merely because they share the same product family.
