Answer:The process-scale X0HC Pod provides 1.1 m² of filtration area.
Answer:It is used mainly for secondary clarification of bioreactor harvests and for protecting downstream processing steps.
Answer:The depth-media structure contains cellulose, inorganic filter aid and glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene components.
Millistak+® HC Pod MX0HC10FS1 is a process-scale disposable depth filter using X0HC media with 1.1 m² of filtration area. The media combines cellulose, inorganic filter aid and a glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene structure in a gradient-density format designed for clarification of bioprocess liquids. X0HC is suited to secondary clarification after centrifugation or an upstream depth-filtration step and can also help protect downstream chromatography operations from residual particulate load. The self-contained Pod format simplifies installation and reduces direct operator contact with process material compared with open filter assemblies. The unit supports bioreactor-harvest clarification and related processing of cell-culture, microbial and protein-containing feeds. Maximum operating pressure depends on temperature, so process scale-up should consider feed characteristics, loading capacity, differential-pressure development and the role of the Pod within the complete clarification train. The scalable Pod architecture allows the same media family to be evaluated at smaller scale before moving to larger process areas, supporting clarification process development.
