Answer:Polyethersulfone (PES) membrane.
Answer:63.5 mm diameter, approximately 28.7 cm² filtration area, ten discs per package.
Answer:300 kDa NMWL, for use in compatible stirred-cell ultrafiltration.
Millipore Biomax 300 kDa ultrafiltration membrane discs use polyethersulfone (PES) to separate dissolved macromolecules through molecular-weight-selective retention. Each disc has a 63.5 mm diameter, provides approximately 28.7 cm² of effective filtration area in a compatible Amicon stirred-cell system, and is supplied non-sterile in a pack of ten. The 300 kDa nominal molecular-weight limit makes the membrane suitable for controlled concentration and buffer exchange involving high-molecular-weight proteins and large biomolecular complexes. The higher nominal molecular-weight limit supports fractionation of larger biological solutes. Pressure-driven filtration allows solvent and smaller dissolved substances to pass through the membrane while selected retained materials remain in the retentate. These flat, replaceable discs are laboratory ultrafiltration media rather than sealed filter cartridges or disposable centrifugal units. Protein recovery and separation performance vary with molecular shape, solution composition, and operating conditions.
