The Viresolve Pro Micro 40 kit contains small-scale virus-retentive membrane devices for evaluating viral-clearance process conditions before scale-up. The kit supplies nine Micro 40 devices, comprising three devices from each of three manufacturing lots, so development studies can examine lot-to-lot performance. Each device incorporates two layers of polyethersulfone virus-retentive membrane and provides 3.4 cm² of effective membrane area. This configuration replaces the older Micro device kit and differs in housing and membrane area from the previous design. Apply appropriate prefiltation and operating controls when testing feeds, and assess throughput, pressure and virus retention in accordance with the specific validation plan. The kit is a development tool, not a complete full-scale filtration system.
