PerkinElmer Lumina manganese hollow cathode lamps supply manganese-specific spectral radiation for atomic absorption measurements. The 50 mm single-element lamp is designed for compatible PinAAcle and AAnalyst instruments and supports laboratories determining manganese in prepared water, food, materials, and other sample digests. In atomic absorption spectroscopy, radiation from the hollow cathode lamp passes through atomized sample material; the instrument determines absorbance at the selected manganese line relative to appropriate calibration solutions. The optical source must be stable for reliable measurement, so follow the instrument's lamp-current and warm-up settings and verify the correct element selection in the software. Sample pretreatment, calibration range, background correction, and quality-control recoveries are independent contributors to analytical performance. The replacement lamp should be handled without touching optical surfaces and installed using the correct turret or socket configuration.
