Promega DTT, Molecular Grade is a 5 g package of dry DL-dithiothreitol designed for biochemical workflows requiring a thiol reducing agent. The white crystalline powder has a specified purity of at least 99% and is quality tested for the absence of DNase, RNase and protease activity. DTT protects sulfhydryl-containing proteins against unwanted oxidation and helps maintain reducing conditions in enzyme reaction mixtures, protein preparation and nucleic acid-related protocols. The dry powder provides flexibility to prepare fresh stock or working solutions at the concentration required by each procedure. It is distinct from Promega's separately offered ready-made 100 mM DTT solution. Because thiol reductants can oxidize after dissolution, limit unnecessary air exposure and follow the storage, preparation and disposal practices specified for the assay.
