Answer:It is the nominal molecular-weight cutoff used to characterize the membrane, not an absolute guarantee of retention for every molecule.
Answer:Comparative experiments can identify differences in product interactions, recovery and membrane flux between the two polymer types.
Answer:Four individually usable 10 cm² Ambr CF disposable filter cassettes are supplied per box.
The Ambr CF Hydrosart 100 kDa cassette is a 10 cm² single-use crossflow filter for screening the processing of higher-molecular-weight biomolecules. It combines a regenerated-cellulose-based membrane with a nominal 100 kDa cutoff, providing a different retention and flux profile from tighter Hydrosart membranes. On the Ambr Crossflow system, the cassette permits automated testing of protein concentration, buffer exchange and process conditions such as transmembrane pressure and crossflow rate. This format can be useful in evaluating larger proteins or macromolecular assemblies where a more open membrane is being considered. Actual sieving performance varies with molecular shape, protein association state and feed chemistry, so studies should include mass-balance and recovery measurements. Each carton supplies four cassettes, allowing separate tests without reusing the same membrane. This is a filtration consumable, not an integrated pump or standalone filtration module.
