The basic bag is mainly used for quick and easy seed trains. It can also be scaled up to our Biostat STR®single-use stirred tank bioreactor. Flexsafe®RM bags are proven for a broad range of different cell lines including CHO, NS0, SF9, E. coli and mesenchymal stem cells. They are available in seven different sizes supporting working volumes from 100 mL up to 100 L. Standard designs are available from stock.

Application Note

Sartorius Flexsafe RM Basic bags provide a sterile single-use cultivation chamber for rocking-motion cell culture in Biostat RM bioreactor systems. The nominal 100 L bag size is designed for low-shear mixing and seed-train or production-support cultivation where a disposable fluid-contact path helps streamline changeover. This Basic configuration has no integrated pH or dissolved oxygen sensing and no screw-cap port. Its specified working volume is 10–50 L on compatible rocking hardware, and the S80 polyethylene film construction supports controlled single-use bioprocessing. The bags are supplied gamma-irradiated and ready for installation, with two bags per pack. They are disposable culture bags, not a standalone powered rocking bioreactor.
