NIMBUS™ Target Preparation Instrument is designed for automated target preparation in Applied Biosystems Axiom 2.0 microarray workflows. The platform is a compact liquid-handling workstation co-developed with Hamilton Robotics, with an automation deck optimized for 96-sample Axiom target preparation. The supported workflow automates DNA amplification, fragmentation, purification, resuspension, hybridization preparation and stain preparation before processing on the GeneTitan MC instrument. Its integrated deck includes thermoshake and cooling functions together with a dedicated waste chute, reducing manual handling through a multistep sample-preparation process. The instrument is supplied with a laptop running an interface that guides the operator through setup and workflow progression. Its benchtop footprint is approximately 50.8 × 94.9 × 76.2 cm at the stated maximum height, and the instrument weighs approximately 58.9 kg. The system is intended for the Axiom assay protocol and compatible Axiom 2.0 reagent kits, rather than being a general-purpose thermal cycler or a stand-alone microarray scanner. Automation can help reduce operator-to-operator variability in complex liquid-handling steps and support consistent preparation of microarray targets.
