Express Five™ SFM is designed for long-term suspension growth of High Five™ insect cells and recombinant-protein expression using baculovirus expression vector systems. The liquid medium is serum-free and protein-free, providing an alternative to serum-containing formulations for BTI-TN-5B1-4 cells. The exact package contains 1,000 mL. Add 18 mM L-glutamine before use because this formulation does not contain glutamine. Express Five SFM supports suspension growth and can be scaled to compatible bioreactor workflows, including CelliGen and WAVE systems, with cultivation parameters optimized to the equipment and cell culture. Its defined serum-free format helps simplify the input materials used for recombinant protein production, while the protein-free composition supports downstream product purification. Ship at ambient temperature and store the liquid at 2–8 °C protected from light. The stated shelf life is 18 months from manufacture. This medium is intended specifically for High Five cell cultivation and should not be confused with Sf9/Sf21 media formulated for different insect cell lines.
