Answer:This configuration contains 500 mL.
Answer:It is commonly used with Sf9 and Sf21 insect cells.
Answer:Yes. The supplemented Grace's formulation is commonly referred to as TNM-FH.
Grace's Insect Medium, supplemented, is a widely used medium for insect cell culture and baculovirus expression workflows. The formulation contains lactalbumin hydrolysate and yeastolate in addition to L-glutamine and sodium bicarbonate, providing a nutrient-rich base for cells such as Sf9 and Sf21. This supplemented formulation is also referred to as TNM-FH. It is commonly combined with fetal bovine serum when preparing complete growth medium for serum-requiring insect cell lines. The 500 mL bottle is convenient for routine maintenance, expansion, infection, and recombinant-protein production at research scale. Because baculovirus particles can persist in refrigerated culture medium, separating media used for routine cell maintenance from media used during viral infection can help reduce cross-contamination of stock cultures. Select serum level, seeding density, and passage conditions for the specific insect cell line and expression workflow.
