Answer:It contains ten 500 mL bottles.
Answer:It is commonly used for Sf9 and Sf21 insect cell culture.
Answer:The supplemented formulation contains lactalbumin hydrolysate and yeastolate in addition to the basal Grace's medium components.
Grace's Insect Medium, supplemented, is a basal medium for growth of insect cell lines used in research and baculovirus expression workflows. The supplemented formulation contains lactalbumin hydrolysate, yeastolate, L-glutamine, and sodium bicarbonate and is commonly used with Sf9 and Sf21 cells. It is also known as TNM-FH when used in this supplemented form. For routine culture of many insect cell lines, the medium is completed with fetal bovine serum based on the requirements of the selected cell line and protocol. This configuration contains ten 500 mL bottles, making it suitable for laboratories that require repeated culture or scale-out across multiple flasks. The medium supports maintenance, expansion, infection, and recombinant-protein expression workflows using compatible insect cells. Use a separate media supply for virus work when preventing baculovirus carryover into stock cultures is important.
