3500xL Genetic Analyzer 24-Capillary Array, 36 cm is designed for capillary electrophoresis on the Applied Biosystems 3500xL Genetic Analyzer for human identification, forensic analysis and DNA sequencing. The assembly contains 24 internally uncoated capillaries, each 36 cm long, installed together in a built-in frame. This preassembled format provides the higher-capacity capillary configuration used by the 3500xL instrument and allows the set to be handled as one array during installation. The 36 cm capillaries support the separation of fluorescently labeled DNA fragments in human identification workflows, including forensic applications. Sequencing is also an identified application for this arrangement. The array is specific to the 3500xL Genetic Analyzer and should not be confused with the eight-capillary assembly intended for the standard 3500 instrument. The package contains one complete array. It ships at room temperature and can be stored at ambient temperature when handled under the instrument's array-storage conditions. The matched capillary lengths and 24-position frame provide the physical separation path required by the corresponding high-throughput instrument.
