Application Note

Orion™ pH 4.01 Buffer is a ready-to-use calibration solution for pH meters and electrodes. This configuration contains 475 mL and is color coded red for quick identification in routine laboratory use. The nominal value is pH 4.01 with a stated tolerance of approximately ±0.01 pH, and the buffer is NIST traceable. It is used as an acidic calibration point for one-, two-, or multipoint pH calibration workflows, especially when expected samples fall below neutral pH. The larger 475 mL bottle format is intended for routine bench use and repeated calibrations. Use clean aliquots and avoid returning used buffer to the original bottle so contamination or sample carryover does not change the reference value.
