Key Features Non-metallic inclusions are always present in steel, to an extent that depends on the steel grade and the production process. Since inclusions strongly affect steel properties and smooth running of the production process, they must be controlled. The Thermo Scientific™ ARL iSpark™ Plus Inclusion Analyzer delivers combined elemental concentrations and inclusion data in the same analysis, making control of inclusions possible in almost real time during steel manufacturing, in up to hundreds of steel production samples per day. For more than twenty years, our company has been a pioneer in the ultra-fast analysis of non-metallic micro-inclusions by spark OES. Thermo Scientific’s Spark-DAT inclusion analysis available today with the ARL iSpark Plus Inclusion Analyzer builds on this long experience. The ARL iSpark Plus Inclusion Analyzer comes as a comprehensive package including all the features needed for a thorough and rapid elemental analysis of steel combined with inclusion analysis. It will help guarantee optimal inclusion content in the steel products, preventing occurrences of costly process issues like nozzle clogging, and minimizing claims and returns of products by customers. The Thermo Scientific ARL iSpark Plus Inclusion Analyzer sports powerful features:
• ARL iSpark Plus, the trusted standard in spark OES, fully equipped for top performance elemental analysis and most advanced inclusion analysis in steel
• 1m vacuum Paschen-Runge optics with PMT detectors
• Full elemental coverage, including gas elements
• Ultra-fast inclusion analysis, combined with elemental analysis
• Ability to determine inclusion type, number, size, concentration, volume fraction and more
• All inclusion analysis software tools, including Spark Explorer, Inclusions Report and SPC
• Customization of the inclusion analysis method and training with Thermo Fisher Scientific experts
• Perfectly adapted for ARL iSpark Plus automated with ARL SMS (Sample Manipulation System)
