The Columbia Agar with blood formulation on one side of the plate contains 5% sheep blood to promote growth of fastidious organisms with clearly visible haemolysis forms for staphylococci and streptococci, and it gives typical growth for S. pneumoniae (dent morphology). Brilliance MRSA 2 Agar on the other side of the plate allows you to obtain faster results for the presence of MRSA with no need for reincubation of negatives. Get more reliable, more accurate results with this enhanced media formulation which contains two chromogens that differentiate MRSA and non-MRSA by distinctive blue colonies and produces larger MRSA colony growth compared to previous formulations.Not all products are available for sale in all territories.
