Answer:The column is intended for aqueous nonionic and cationic oligomers and oligosaccharides, including hydrolyzed cyclodextrins.
Answer:No. Cationic groups in the gel matrix make it unsuitable for anionic polymer separations.
Answer:It measures 7.8 mm internal diameter × 300 mm length and contains 7 µm polymer particles.
TSKgel G-Oligo-PW is an aqueous size-exclusion chromatography column developed for high-resolution separation of small water-soluble oligomers and oligosaccharides. It is especially suited to nonionic and cationic oligomer samples, including hydrolyzed cyclodextrins. The packing is based on hydroxylated polymethacrylate with cationic groups in the gel matrix. Those groups make the column unsuitable for separation of anionic polymers. The stainless-steel column has a 7.8 mm internal diameter and 300 mm length, packed with 7 µm polymer particles having an approximately 12.5 nm pore size. It operates in aqueous gel-filtration chromatography and is shipped in water. The mobile phase allows up to 20% organic solvent. These specifications matter when designing carbohydrate and oligomer analysis, selecting the eluent, and evaluating sample charge. The separation mechanism and resin chemistry differ from conventional reversed-phase columns; chromatographic selectivity should be evaluated using suitable aqueous samples and calibration standards.
