Tosoh, 0014784, TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S

TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S is a hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) resin for biomolecule purification. The resin is composed of a base material of hydroxylated methacrylic polymer beads that have been functionalized with a Phenyl ligand group. TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S resin has a high degree of chemical and mechanical stability, allowing cleaning-in-place (CIP) and high flow rates. TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S resin has a 100 nm pore size and a 35 µm bead size and is the third most hydrophobic of the TOYOPEARL HIC resins. TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S resin can be used for high resolution intermediate purification and polishing process steps. The primary applications of this resin are for the separation of proteins, their isoforms, and aggregate removal. If greater resolution is needed, the smaller particle TSKgel Phenyl-5PW resins may be used. If lower resolution is desired, the TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650M or TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650C resins may be used. As both the TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650 and TSKgel Phenyl-5PW resins use the same ligand and backbone chemistry, the selectivity between the two resin types will be unchanged. TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S resin has a dynamic binding capacity for lysozyme of 30 to 50 g/L. TOYOPEARL Phenyl-650S resin maintains capacity at increased linear velocities, has good pressure-flow characteristics, and will withstand back pressures up to 0.3 MPa.
