Waters SymmetryShield RP18 is an endcapped reversed-phase HPLC column with 3.5 µm, 100 Å silica carrying an embedded-polar C18 phase. The 100 × 4.6 mm analytical bed is shorter than the 150 mm and 250 mm SymmetryShield variants and is suitable for methods specifying a 100 mm format. Embedded polar functionality reduces contact between highly basic compounds and residual silica silanols, limiting unwanted peak tailing while preserving C18 retention. The standard operating range is pH 2–8 with a maximum pressure of 6,000 psi (415 bar). The package contains one complete analytical column.
