Answer:It is 4.6 mm ID × 150 mm long, with 5 µm particles and 100 Å pores.
Answer:The pH range is 2–8, with a maximum pressure of 6,000 psi (415 bar).
Answer:It uses endcapped reversed-phase C8 chemistry and has USP classification L7.
Waters Symmetry C8 is an analytical reversed-phase HPLC column for methods requiring octyl-bonded silica selectivity and reproducible retention. The stationary phase uses monofunctionally bonded C8 ligands on high-purity, base-deactivated silica. C8 chemistry generally gives a different hydrophobic retention balance from C18, allowing method developers to adjust selectivity for mixtures of moderately hydrophobic compounds. The column measures 4.6 mm internal diameter by 150 mm length, with 5 µm spherical particles and 100 Å pores. Its pH operating range is 2–8, and the maximum pressure is 6,000 psi (415 bar). The bonded phase is endcapped, has a 12% carbon load, and is identified with USP classification L7. This configuration is suitable for routine analytical HPLC and method-transfer work when the validated method calls for Symmetry C8 chemistry and these dimensions. Mobile phase selection, flow rate, and sample solvent should remain within the method and column operating requirements. One analytical column is supplied per package.
