The Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 column is a reversed-phase analytical column for high-efficiency UPLC and UHPLC separations. It is packed with 1.7 µm bridged ethyl hybrid particles bonded to C18 chemistry, with 130 Å pores in a 2.1 mm internal-diameter by 100 mm column. The small particle size supports efficient separations at the elevated pressures characteristic of UHPLC instrumentation. The C18 phase provides hydrophobic retention for a wide range of small molecules, while the BEH substrate offers compatibility across a specified pH range of 1–12. The listed maximum operating pressure is 18,000 psi (1240 bar), subject to system and method constraints. Appropriate low-dispersion connections, mobile-phase filtration, and sample preparation are important for retaining chromatographic performance. This is one analytical column, not an instrument, guard cartridge, or sample-preparation device.
