The Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 column uses 1.7 µm bridged ethyl hybrid particles with a C8 bonded stationary phase for high-efficiency reversed-phase chromatography. Its 2.1 × 150 mm dimensions and 130 Å pores support detailed analytical separation of small molecules on suitable UPLC or UHPLC equipment. C8 chemistry provides lower hydrophobic retention than comparable C18 phases, which can shorten elution times for strongly retained compounds or offer a different selectivity balance. The hybrid particle substrate supports a broad operating pH range of 1–12 and a nominal maximum pressure of 1240 bar. The 150 mm length provides substantial resolving power but requires attention to system dispersion, pressure and mobile-phase compatibility. Column conditioning, correct connection hardware and method-specific gradient optimization help maintain stable retention and peak shape. This is an analytical column with eCord support, not a complete UPLC system or guard column.
