Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 VanGuard pre-columns protect matching sub-2 µm C8 analytical columns against inlet contamination. Each direct-connect pre-column holds a 5 × 2.1 mm bed of 1.7 µm, 130 Å C8-bonded BEH particles. The short bed and direct inlet connection limit extra-column volume and the number of fluidic fittings, supporting high-efficiency UPLC methods. C8 chemistry provides lower hydrophobic retention than a corresponding C18 phase, while BEH technology permits a pH operating range of 1–12. The specified pressure limit is 18,000 psi (1,240 bar). Three pre-columns are supplied.
