Waters Spherisorb C8 is a silica-based reversed-phase HPLC analytical column with endcapped octyl bonded ligands. The 4.6 × 250 mm configuration uses 5 µm, 80 Å silica particles and USP L7 chemistry. C8 bonding gives lower hydrophobic retention than many C18 materials, providing an alternative for separations where excessively long retention or unsuitable selectivity occurs with octadecyl phases. The specified operating pH range is 2–8 and maximum pressure is 6,000 psi (415 bar). The packed product is a complete analytical column, not a guard cartridge.
