The 1 cc flangeless Oasis WCX cartridges contain the Oasis WCX sorbent, which is a polymeric reversed-phase, weak ion exchange mixed-mode sorbent that has been optimized for fast, simple, and highly selective sample preparation of strong basic compounds and quaternary amines. Since the Oasis WCX sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The flangeless configuration allows the cartridges to be closely packed for processing in specialized automated SPE systems.

Waters Oasis WCX is a 1 cc flangeless solid-phase extraction cartridge containing 30 mg of 30 µm water-wettable polymeric sorbent. Its mixed-mode chemistry combines reversed-phase retention with weak cation-exchange functionality, supporting selective sample preparation of strongly basic compounds and quaternary amines. The flangeless configuration facilitates closely spaced positioning in certain automated SPE systems. A key feature of the water-wettable sorbent is its tolerance for incidental drying during sample-loading preparations without the stringent wetting requirements associated with some conventional silica sorbents.
