Corning 50 mL conical centrifuge tubes are sterile polypropylene vessels for sample concentration, pelleting, reagent preparation and cell-culture handling. Their clear conical geometry facilitates collection of pellets at the base of the tube, while printed graduations and large white writing spots help identify and measure samples. Each tube has an orange polyethylene CentriStar threaded cap with a plug-style sealing design for reduced leakage under recommended conditions. The maximum specified relative centrifugal force is 17,000 × g when used with appropriate centrifuge equipment. The product material is suitable for a stated temperature range of −80 °C to 120 °C, with application-specific restrictions still applying to samples, accessories and working procedures. These tubes are sterile, nonpyrogenic, RNase- and DNase-free and sold rack-packed as 25 tubes per rack, 500 per case. The 50 mL format and its force rating differ from the corresponding 15 mL variant.
