Answer:5 L of Butyl Sepharose High Performance chromatography resin.
Answer:Hydrophobic interaction chromatography using immobilized butyl groups.
Answer:Protein binding is promoted by suitable high-salt conditions, and elution generally follows a reduction in salt concentration.
Cytiva Butyl Sepharose High Performance is a hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) medium used to separate proteins based on differences in surface hydrophobicity. Butyl ligands are attached to a highly cross-linked agarose-based matrix, enabling protein adsorption under suitable high-salt conditions and release as the salt concentration is reduced. The high-performance resin format supports preparative protein purification and polishing where hydrophobic selectivity complements ion exchange or affinity chromatography. This product supplies 5 L of bulk medium for packing compatible columns in process development and production-scale workflows. It is useful for separating protein variants, aggregates and other components when their hydrophobic interactions differ under the selected process conditions. Butyl Sepharose High Performance is an unpacked chromatography medium rather than a ready-to-run column.
