Answer:2300 cm² effective filtration area using a 0.2 µm-rated Emflon PFR membrane.
Answer:A quick-connect/disconnect vent coupling and a valved 4–6 mm hose-barb drain.
Answer:No. Emflon PFR Novasip capsules are intended primarily for air, gas and vessel-vent filtration.
The Pall Emflon PFR Novasip capsule provides a hydrophobic 0.2 µm sterilizing-grade barrier for process gas and vessel-vent applications. This configuration provides 2300 cm² effective filtration area in a Novasip enclosure with a quick-connect/disconnect vent coupling and a 4–6 mm hose-barb drain fitted with a valve. Its gas filtration duty is different from a hydrophilic 0.2 µm liquid filtration capsule, so performance claims and integrity testing must be assessed for the relevant gas application. Process integration should address vent-gas flow, possible condensate accumulation, condensate drainage and pressure differentials during operation or steam treatment. The capsule is intended for use with compatible equipment connections and an application-specific sterilization or installation procedure. Confirm the exact interface, drainage orientation and validated process limits before using the capsule as a microbial vent barrier.
